There was a real community atmosphere at Heacham Fire Station as the doors opened and local families came along to support this year's Open Day.
Town and Around joined the crowds for what proved to be a busy and good-natured event, with visitors getting the chance to meet the crews, take a closer look around the station and enjoy the games, food, refreshments and raffle organised for the day.
It was particularly good to see so many families attending, with people of all ages taking the opportunity to find out a little more about their local fire station and the crews who serve the area.
But behind the fun was an important purpose.
Money raised throughout the day is being donated to The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support to serving and retired members of the UK's fire services and their families.
The final amount raised is expected to be announced by Heacham Fire Station in the coming days.
Following the event, the station thanked everyone who had helped make the day possible, from those who simply came through the doors to the local businesses and individuals who donated money, raffle prizes, vouchers, products and their time.
The crew said every raffle ticket bought, game played and refreshment purchased had contributed to the day's fundraising.
They described themselves as "incredibly lucky" to have such a supportive community behind them.
And having spent some time at the station ourselves, that community support was certainly evident.
Open days like this are about more than fundraising. They give residents an opportunity to meet the people behind a vital local service in much more relaxed circumstances and, perhaps just as importantly, give the community an opportunity to show its appreciation in return.
For Heacham Fire Station, the message at the end of a successful day was a simple one: "Thank you, Heacham."
Judging by the number of people who came along to support them, the feeling appeared to be very much mutual.
