West Norfolk residents invited to submit questions ahead of extraordinary council meeting
Residents across West Norfolk are being given the opportunity to put their concerns about the proposed Longmarsh Green Energy development directly to borough councillors ahead of an extraordinary Full Council meeting on Monday 16 November.
The Mayor and Leader of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk have agreed to accept questions from the public in advance of the meeting, providing an opportunity for residents, parish councils and community organisations to raise issues they want councillors to consider.
Questions must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday 12 November and should be no longer than 250 words.
Residents can send their questions through their ward councillor, any borough councillor, or directly to the council’s Democratic Services team at democratic.services@west-norfolk.gov.uk.
Where several people raise similar concerns, questions may be grouped together. Community groups, parish councils and other organisations are being encouraged to submit a single collective question where possible.
Although the questions will help inform councillors’ discussions, they will not be read out or answered during the meeting itself. The council says responses will be published on its website afterwards.
Separate consultation remains open
Residents are also being encouraged to take part in the developer’s consultation on the Longmarsh Green Energy proposals, which remains open until Thursday 26 November.
Comments can be submitted through the project’s website at longmarshgreenenergy.co.uk/feedback.
The two opportunities are separate, meaning residents who wish to make their views known can submit questions to the borough council ahead of its meeting and respond directly to the developer’s consultation.
With the proposals attracting local interest and concern, the extraordinary meeting gives councillors an opportunity to consider the issues being raised by the communities they represent.
